To register for Preparing to audit disability services in Victoria workshop

Disability services in Victoria are required to undergo independent monitoring to confirm the quality of disability service provision.

Audit teams comprising a minimum of two people, an auditor and a service user technical expert (SUTE), will conduct the independent monitoring.  SUTEs are defined in JAS-ANZ Procedure 34 “Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of disability service providers in Victoria” as:
“A person eligible to be a member of the audit team and who is either a person with a disability within the meaning of the Disability Act 2006 who has experience as a service user of a disability support service; or a family member or primary carer of a such a person. A SUTE has specialist knowledge and abilities; e.g. empathy with the life experience of people with disability, and ability to plan and facilitate the effective input of people with disability in an audit process. A SUTE shall provide evidence to the certification body of having been a service recipient of a government funded disability service in Australia, or that he/she is a family member or primary carer of such a person.”

All auditors and SUTEs must successfully complete the “Preparing to Audit Disability Services in Victoria” workshop before auditing in this system.  This workshop covers the knowledge and skills required in JAS-ANZ Procedure 34 for both auditors and SUTEs and includes:
